About the Artist
Bio

Andres, a passionate artist born in 1996 in the Philippines, has been creating captivating works of art since childhood. After moving to the United States as a young boy, he developed a deep fascination with the world of visual art, particularly figurative art, which has become a profound source of inspiration for him. Through his dedication and skill, he has achieved notable success in portraiture and multi-figure compositions.
While attending Community College and exploring various fields such as Kinesiology and Nursing, Andres made the pivotal decision to concentrate on Fine Art. Driven by a strong desire to achieve his goals, he improved his drawing, painting, and observational skills by participating in life drawing courses held weekly throughout Los Angeles for several years. This journey led him to the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art, where he completed an intensive three-year atelier program. During his studies, he was elected Student Representative, facilitating discussions between students and faculty to enhance the educational experience. Andres graduated on November 16, 2024, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. In addition to his artistic pursuits, Andres has shared his passion for art as a private art teacher and class instructor. His commitment to nurturing creativity in others reflects his belief in the transformative influence in art.
Since 2019, Andres has exhibited his work at Barclays Cafe in North Hills, California, known for its art displays and live music. His oil painting, Marcus, won second place at the Santa Paula Museum in January 2024, as determined by public votes and judges' scores. Marcus was also showcased at the Haggin Museum during the 62nd National Juried Exhibition in September 2024 and later displayed at the prestigious Salmagundi Club in New York among talented artists from across the nation in November.
